Gala & Award Night

DJ for Gala, Award Nights and Prize Ceremonies

A gala evening forgives no rough edges. Every video cue, every applause moment, every transition has to land – and the aftershow still has to take off afterward.

Gala & Award Night – DJ Jonas

Briefly answered

What sets a gala DJ apart from a party DJ?

A gala evening is a timed show. There’s a run-of-show, presenters, categories, trophies, video cues, stage changes and hosting that works on cue.

Here, the DJ isn’t the entertainer but part of the production: delivering intro and outro music for every programme item, cleanly fading applause moments, keeping transition music ready for delays, and never, under any circumstances, running over the hosting. Only after the formal programme does the role shift – the show technician becomes the party DJ who fills a dance floor in evening wear. Combining both skills in one person is the real reason to book an experienced event DJ.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does DJonas work with event agencies and production teams?
Yes, regularly. Run-of-show, cue list and technical interfaces are coordinated in advance; for larger productions this includes taking part in the technical rehearsal and dress rehearsal.
Can the hosting/MC role be covered as well?
Announcements, programme notices and transitions, yes. For hosting an entire gala evening continuously, a professional presenter is recommended – there’s an established network for this, and referrals are happily made.
Is a second, independent setup possible as a backup?
Yes. For events with a high risk profile, a redundant backup setup is arranged on request, including separate power circuits.
How short-notice can programme changes be accommodated?
Changes to the run of show are easily accommodated up until the soundcheck and get folded into the cue list. Even spontaneous shifts during the evening – a speaker running late, an act falling through – are absorbed with prepared transition music.

One night. One sound. One standing ovation.
