What sets a gala DJ apart from a party DJ?
A gala evening is a timed show. There’s a run-of-show, presenters, categories, trophies, video cues, stage changes and hosting that works on cue.
Here, the DJ isn’t the entertainer but part of the production: delivering intro and outro music for every programme item, cleanly fading applause moments, keeping transition music ready for delays, and never, under any circumstances, running over the hosting. Only after the formal programme does the role shift – the show technician becomes the party DJ who fills a dance floor in evening wear.
