In the club, no one is obligated to dance. Play the wrong track and you watch the dance floor thin out within twenty seconds – and you have to react while it’s happening.

This experience can’t be learned in theory. It’s the reason the transition from dinner to dance floor works at a corporate event: you can read the room and know exactly when the moment has arrived – and when you still need to wait two more tracks.

Club work is also where the musical range comes from: house, deep house, nu disco, funk, hip-hop, current charts and classics – and the ability to move between these worlds without it ever sounding like a break in style.
