Pricing & Quote

What does a DJ cost for a corporate event?

The honest answer: it depends on six factors. This page explains what they are — so you can gauge what your event will realistically cost before you send an inquiry.

Pricing & Quote – DJ Jonas

Short answer

What the price actually depends on

A DJ quote isn’t a flat day rate — it’s a calculation built from time on site, scope of equipment, and the effort involved on location.

Anyone who gives you a number without asking a single question is either padding it with a large safety margin — or recalculating on the day of the event. Neither is workable for a corporate event. So here, transparently, are the six factors that actually determine the effort.

Factor 01

Duration of the booking

When does the DJ arrive on site, and how late does he play? An evening starting at dinner is a different job from accompanying the day from midday onward, including a supporting programme.

Factor 02

The room’s technical requirements

It isn’t the guest count that drives the effort, but room size, ceiling height and acoustics. An acoustically demanding hall can take more work than a much larger, well-damped one.

Factor 03

Scope of equipment

Is suitable sound equipment already on site? Does it need stage sound, wireless microphones, several zones, or a battery-powered rig with no mains connection?

Factor 04

Lighting and atmosphere

Dance-floor lighting, ambient lighting in corporate colours, exterior illumination — each available at a different level of build-out.

Factor 05

Add-on services

A saxophonist as a live duo, a photo booth, ceremony sound, all-day accompaniment, or coverage of a multi-day format.

Factor 06

Location and date

Travel distance, an overnight stay if early set-up is required — and whether the date falls in peak season.

Always included

What’s in every quote at no extra charge

Some providers list these as add-ons. Here, they’re standard.

  • Full set-up and teardown, including arrangement
  • A preliminary call and a written running order for your sign-off
  • Coordination with your venue on timing, power and house rules
  • Soundcheck with all speakers before guests arrive
  • Wireless microphones for speeches and hosting
  • Song requests and a do-not-play list, taken into account
  • Redundant equipment carried in the vehicle in case of a failure
  • Reachable right up to the day of the event — one point of contact

Process

Three steps to your quote

  1. Send an inquiryEvent type, date, location, an approximate guest count and a rough time frame are enough. Everything else can be worked out in conversation.
  2. A quick clarifying callFor larger events, a short call: venue, programme items, existing equipment. It takes ten minutes and makes the quote solid.
  3. Receive your quoteIn writing within 24 hours, with every item listed separately and, on request, in two versions. No obligation, free of charge.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about price and quotes

Why aren’t there any prices on the website?
Because a flat-rate price for your event would almost always be the wrong number. It isn’t the guest count that drives the effort involved, but the length of the booking, the scope of technical equipment, and the acoustic requirements of the room. A board dinner with existing sound equipment already in place is a completely different job from a staff party with stage sound and a lighting concept — regardless of how many guests attend either one. Instead of a number you’d only end up renegotiating anyway, you get an extremely fast quote that’s built exactly around your evening.
How quickly will I get a binding quote?
Reliability is the top priority here, which is why you’ll usually hear back from me within a few hours, and within 24 hours of your inquiry at the latest. The quote is written, bindingly calculated, and lists every item individually — no catch-all line for “equipment, flat fee.”
Can I get more than one option?
On request, yes. Especially when a decision is still being made internally, a base package and an extended package are useful: it lets you present the decision with two solid figures instead of a single estimate.
Is there a travel fee?
Depending on the distance, yes. It’s shown in the quote as its own line item — never hidden inside the total. Within the Rhine-Main area it’s usually waived.
What does it cost to extend beyond the agreed finish time?
An extension is possible by the hour and is listed in the quote at a fixed hourly rate, so you can decide spontaneously on the night without having to talk about money.
How does billing work for corporate clients?
A proper invoice with VAT shown separately, payment terms as agreed, and on request a cost centre, purchase order number and service period. For procurement departments, terms & conditions and proof of insurance are sent along on request.
